Ethos of July 25

Causal patterns draw cryptic scars

Corporeality is the path towards something

The search for perdition in mountains and valleys

Deserts are pretty from afar

The thought doesn’t project to the environment

Freedom is solitude with crickets

I love the nature imagery in this poem and the juxtaposition of the transcendent and the corporeal. My favorite line is the last…how often I have felt the peace of a summer evening and the fullness of the universe with the crickets. Nature is abundant!
